Saddle tap with a built-in manual volume damper (dampener) for adding a round branch takeoff to a round spiral main and balancing airflow to that branch. The curved saddle plate seats against the outside of the main and is fastened with sheet metal screws; the collar has a rolled bead and crimped end so the branch duct slips on. The damper blade is set with an external locking quadrant handle so the position holds after air balancing. Cut an opening in the main to the tap diameter, seal the saddle joint with duct sealant, and fasten in place. Saddle curvature must match the main duct diameter. Zinc-coated galvanized steel for corrosion resistance in exposed or concealed duct runs. Pressure class: 2″ WG. Gauge: Per SMACNA pressure class. Fabricate and install per SMACNA / project specifications and approved project specifications.
