Saddle tap for adding a round branch takeoff to a round spiral main duct. The curved saddle plate seats against the outside of the main and is fastened with sheet metal screws through the pre-punched holes. The collar has a rolled bead and crimped end so the branch duct slips on. Cut an opening in the main to the tap diameter, seal the saddle joint with duct sealant, and fasten in place. Saddle curvature must match the main duct diameter. Paint-grip steel with a surface that accepts field-applied paint, for exposed duct that will be finished to match the space. Pressure class: 2″ WG. Gauge: Per SMACNA pressure class. Fabricate and install per SMACNA / project specifications and approved project specifications.
